Carsten Pieper When I discovered this new EP by alt-folkers Timesbold last year, announcing a new album, I refrained from buying it, as I wanted do go for the whole album. Now, as Not Still Here is finally here, I had to learn, that these releases don't overlap at all! So, first things first, today the EP, the album next time ;-) Favorite track: Right Wing Folk Yourself.

You can dance until you break your legs or until the song is over I’d catch my death to catch your breath because I am a true believer You can sing until you break your neck or until this song is over but don’t you heed a word I breathe because I am a true believer You’ve been a forest where I’ve been for miles You’ve been a light to my blindness it’s no recourse to say what’s worse being walked on or run over so come in here, come here right now if You can, come in colors come and sit yourself right down upon my true believer Alberta let your hair hang down all upon your shoulders I’d catch my death to catch your breath because I am a true believer

Steady as she goes when she don’t need you no more she’s walking down the middle of the street and pickups drop their loads at her feet and you think how can I oppose her will as it rose topple your little tower where it stands bombed you inside out like Kurdistan slapped you when you tried to kiss her hand Steady as she goes her legs they seem to grow she looks naked when she’s clothed that’s how she sees right through you, you suppose how she lined up all of your ducks in rows and shot them down as steady as she goes steady as she goes

Hunting Moon 03:17
I am beneath the hunting moon my woman she, does sway and swoon if it’s your will to come here soon please be aware of my hunting moon my arms are strong, my limbs won’t break even when this earth does quake I wake at dusk, I sleep at noon here beneath my hunting moon I’ll hunt you here, I’ll hunt you there I’ll hunt you where you’re least aware I promise I will find you soon underneath my hunting moon the hunting moon is round and bright and this ballad rides it’s light murder is a currency etched into it’s melody and as my mind drifts to the past this melody was built to last your future will be here soon underneath my hunting moon

Oh it always blows me down it pulls my house apart your desperate desperado right wing does not hide your heart There are creatures born to be behind whatever puts them forth & they will burn by their own ends for what their ends are worth What have you done for anyone there's a tear in your right wing Right wing sing right wing cry right wing make me laugh right wing take your place in line on both sides of the path People in my world describe where right wing folk reside locked in mutinous mutations of their own design What have you done for anyone there's a tear in your right wing
5.
Every time I try and see your face some stranger's head slips into your place a total eclipse of you to me that everyone else gets to see Every time I try and raise my head These horrible birds alight on my neck and when I start to speak, they start to peck and they render me a nervous wreck Every time I try and speak your name my mouth fills up with smoke and flames and I burn my house and the earth does quake and my dragon heart does break I get tied up and I get tied down the tracks are revealed and the train’s comin’ ‘round I can see it so clear when there’s no further down but that’s always when they release the hounds So batten your hatch and raise the roof suckle your babies on hundred proof don’t just grab what you can get grab what you were born to lose

I’ve been fishing for pennies shopping in cemeteries living in a stand alone past secretly pushing a total fucking pain in the ass into every shopper who would dare to fish my stream who am I to say what I can’t do Garbage kicks up garbage dust while Walser goes for walks and I’m eating cheese while Kafka just sits there and talks but what do I do when my enemy stops wearing socks who am I to say what I can’t do I’ll stay alive, and you’ll stay alive it’s as good as a catch as catch can if I was a goldfish I’d quickly be killing this man but I can’t decide who is hollow or who has been canned who am I to say what I can’t do papers they pile up fishing in obituaries for things I don’t know anymore I’ve been dreaming a dream of some big Babylon score all it did was leave me just wanting more who am I to say what I can’t do (x2) I’ve been fishing for pennies shopping in cemeteries living in a stand alone past secretly pushing a total fucking pain in the ass into every shopper who would dare to fish my stream and if you know me, you know what I mean

about

I guess it comes down to this: aspect ratios and adjustment of globals.

If you’ve ever been told to sit and spin and just sank, these songs might be for you.

This collection is coming ahead of a full length album this February on vinyl via DevilDuck records.

So sit, spin, get those ratios right and adjust your globals with your friendly neighborhood Timesbold.
