If you're reading this you probably already realize that J. Merritt has the kind of voice you remember forever upon hearing it, Its familiar but i have never heard anything exactly like it. Merritt has the ability to make a room full of drunk people stop talking and listen to his music, I have witnessed this upon multiple occasions and very few artists have this ability

I've spent the last two decades listening to the music of Timesbold, it never disappoints, the only way you will believe what I am saying is by hitting play and going thru the Timesbold catalog. Merritt also has a knack for surrounding himself with talent and this release is no exception. Recorded in Portland at Fremont with a new cast of musicians and a myriad of classic instruments these songs leave me yearning for a full length release.

This 2021 single from Timesbold reunites J. Merritt with Priapus Records where 25 years ago he released music under the moniker Whip. The Priapus label launched both his first single (7" Some Awful Men b/w Woody Guthrie) and Whip's debut album Song Song.
